About PechaKucha Night Burlington

Drawing its name from the Japanese word for “chit chat,” PechaKucha (pronounced Petch-aa Koo-chaa) is a global phenomenon that began over 15 years ago in Tokyo. Now, it’s a creative force in over 1,000 cities worldwide, bringing communities together through its signature 20x20 format: 20 images, 20 seconds each. Each presentation is a fast-paced 6 minutes and 40 seconds of storytelling, where presenters share their passions, ideas, and experiences as their images transition automatically.

PechaKucha Night Burlington (or “PKN Burlington”) celebrates the creative power and diversity of our community here in Burlington, across Vermont, and beyond. Since our inception in 2010, we’ve proudly hosted over 30 PechaKucha Nights, featuring more than 260 unique presentations.

Our events have taken place in some of Vermont’s most iconic venues, including the University of Vermont’s Fleming Museum of Art, Burlington City Arts, Shelburne Museum, ECHO-Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, and FlynnSpace.
